Virtual trucking safety summit scheduled for Aug. 5 The FMCSA will host a virtual trucking safety summit, focusing on property-carrying commercial motor vehicles. Motor vehicle fatality rates continue to rise

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), the nationwide fatality rate per miles driven increased 23.5% in May compared to the previous year. This marks the third consecutive month of increasing fatality rates, despite less miles driven. In response, the NSC developed employer guidance on safe routes to work and improving transportation safety. MORE
Virginia is the first state to adopt COVID-19 requirements The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry approved an emergency temporary standard on infectious disease prevention. The standard creates employer requirements for conducting exposure assessments, notifying employees, providing employee access to exposure and medical records and more.
