Congressman questions whether a DOL proposed rule would jeopardize teen workers A congressman wrote a letter to Secretary of Labor R. Alexander Acosta, questioning a proposed rule, Expanding Apprenticeship and Employment Opportunities to 16 and 17-year olds under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). According to the notice of proposed rulemaking, the DOL is planning to consider whether hazardous occupations orders should be updated.
